What to do at Kids’ Day

September 30, 2016

Here’s a little reminder from The Middleton Public Library‘s Outreach & Children’s Services Librarian, Amy Perry, of all the fun that will be had at Kids’ Day at the Market in less than a week! Visit our event page for even more details.

It can be a little difficult to feel the weather gradually getting cooler as we creep closer to Fall, but the temperature change also means Kids’ Day at the Greenway Station Farmers’ Market on Thursday, October 6th is almost here! The Middleton Public Library is excited to be participating this year and we’ve been busy ramping up for it.

The Kids’ Day event starts at 8am and the first 200 children to attend the Farmer’s Market that day will receive a free cookie and mini gourd to decorate. The gourds and cookies will be available at the Heck’s Market booth and we’ll have lots of fun stickers and markers kids can use to create their own unique gourd at the library’s booth. We can’t wait to see your creations! Throughout the whole market, kids will also have the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat of a real, utility vehicle from Olson Toon Landscaping’s active fleet! Olson Toon will also be handing out free tote bags (while supplies last) so you can easily carry all of your crafts and goodies.

Fun continues at 10am when our Children’s Librarians will lead a Pete the Cat themed storytime that’s sure to keep everyone singing and stepping into piles of fun! After storytime, kids can then create their own Pete the Cat to take home. At 11am, kids can meet a princess!

If you have any gently used children’s book donations, feel free to bring them with you to this event as there will be a book donation box available too. All donated books will be given to the Friends of the Middleton Public Library book sale.

Library staff, Friends members, volunteers, and the library princess are excited to attend this year’s Greenway Station’s Kids’ Day event on Thursday October 6th from 8-1pm. Make sure you stop by our booth to participate in craft activities, storytime, meet the library princess, get a library card, pick up our event brochure, donate a children’s book, or to just say hello.
