In case you couldn’t tell from the Instagram and Facebook newsfeeds, this past Sunday was the Oscars! For the longest time, my mom and I used to tune into the Oscars pretty early, watching for our favorite stars in the gorgeous gowns. After looking watching the actresses’ interviews and narrowing down my favorites, here is who I think looked the best dressed this year at the 2017 Oscars!

Emma Stone in Givenchy Haute Couture
This gold Givenchy Haute Couture dress looked absolutely stunning on Emma Stone. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dress quite like it; with the top half having an almost corset vibe, while the bottom half pays homage to the “Flapper” dress, with the gold fringe, sleek silhouette, and a slit on the sides. Her jewelry, made by Tiffany & Co, consisted of gold and diamond encrusted earrings that were showcased by her side swept hair. Overall, I think this is a really romantic and timeless look on her, and her best look from the entire awards season.

Taraji P. Henson in Custom-Designed Alberta Ferretti
Taraji P. Henson capitalized on the 2016/2017’s velvet trend in her dress designed by Alberta Ferretti. The midnight blue, off-the-shoulder gown was accentuated by matching Jimmy Choo shoes (which were showcased by the dresses mid-thigh slit) and an absolutely breathtaking diamond necklace. Looking at her dress, I’m reminded of Marilyn Monroe’s signature off-the-shoulder outfits she was known for.

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton never fails, and Michelle Williams provides a perfect example with her Oscar gown. The style of the deep neckline, paired with the embroidered cream skirt is so feminine chic. My favorite part of this Louis Vuitton piece is, in fact, the top, which reminds me of a ballerina’s leotard, and so effortlessly adds elegance to her outfit. I’m so in love with the leotard-inspired ensemble and how Michelle Williams wears it with such grace and poise. If I had a chance to choose any outfit from the Oscars to wear, this Louis Vuitton gown would easily be my first choice.

Karlie Kloss in Stella McCartney
Karlie Kloss stood out from other stars was her all white gown by Stella McCartney. What was especially eye-catching was her one-shouldered cape. Her all white ensemble, paired with a diamond choker and diamond earrings, makes me see her as one of the best-dressed of Hollywood’s biggest night. But looking closer at Kloss’s outfit, you’ll notice a small blue ribbon pinned to the hip of her dress. It’s almost as if her dress serves as a platform for this ribbon, which serves as a symbol for solidarity for American Civil Liberal Union, and protests Trump’s immigration ban. Karlie Kloss was not the only celebrity toting this pin on her outfit. Lin-Manuel Miranda and Barry Jenkins also wore their ACLU ribbon to show their support, among others.

Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton
Alicia Vikander made a head-turning appearance in another gorgeous Louis Vuitton gown, this time in a classic black style. The tight piece ended with a small, ruffled train, which showcased Vikander’s shoes, a strappy, black heeled-sandal tied just above her ankles. Her stunning necklace, designed by Bulgari, is the perfect statement piece for the delicately designed Oscar gown.
